"Once a King or Queen of Mrs. Freed's class, always a King or Queen of Mrs. Freed's class."

Today's news:
"It was a fun day in fifth grade today," Mrs. Freed reported. "All the students were totally engaged in wishing poor SAID a sad farewell," she added.
"We all loved using him in our writing over the years, but we are now in fifth grade and it is time to move ahead in our writing careers!" declared many of the students.
"A good time and lasting learning was enjoyed by all!" agreed Mrs. Maschas, Ms. Dietz, and Mrs. Freed. :) (see pix below)

Good Afternoon,
It is a sad day in fifth grade...we lost a lifelong friend today. Poor SAID is dead. He was a faithful companion throughout our elementary years.
Tomorrow we will lay our dear friend to rest in peace. SAID will no longer be a part of our daily lives. He lived an uneventful life, and was surrounded by adequate words. He was often heard to complain that he did not get the respect he deserved. SAID is survived by just a few members of the Boring-Verb family: Got, Did, Run, and Went.
Although it is not yet known how SAID passed away, many have speculated that perhaps he was murdered. Suspicion has fallen on Murmured, Replied, and Retorted.
Fifth grade students will have an opportunity to pay their last respects to the dearly departed tomorrow afternoon. We request that students enter and depart the ceremony in a respectful, hushed manner. Also, we ask that students dress appropriately (black attire if possible). Flowers are an acceptable remembrance. We can all honor his memory through thoughtful use of descriptive dialogue tags in the future.
